Our RIBA Q&A

What is your current head count?

5

What makes you different from the other practices?

Our company motto is “creating spaces where memories are made”. The projects we work on sensitively respond to our client’s aspirations, site context and functional requirements.

Our in house planning consultant ensures that every project is realised by conducting a ‘Desk Based Planning Appraisal’ before we embark on the design. Our unique micro-pricing approach and step-by-step guidance promote and exciting yet transparent journey through the design and planning process. We design and build innovative buildings that merge considered spaces, carefully selected materials and sustainable construction methods.

What is the most exciting project you have come across?

We are coming to the final design stages for a single-storey new-build eco home in the Northumberland countryside with near Passive House standards. The pitched-roof u-shape structure is separated into three functional elements, which are linked together by a timber-slatted flat-roof ‘cloister corridor’ wrapped around the private walled garden.

What makes the North East such an exciting place for architects?

The construction industry in the North East is a small and welcoming community. We have been able to quickly establish superb relationships with the region’s top contractors, engineers, manufacturers and governing bodies. Their help has enabled us to deliver a series of ambitious and contemporary homes across the region. There is a huge amount of talent in the North East.
