New Commission to Design an Extension to a Country House
We have been appointed to design a contemporary rear extension to this wonderful country house in rural Northumberland.
The landscape raises up sharply to the rear of the property, burying the ground floor of the house.
Our initial concept is to drive the landscape back to make room for a new sunken extension, which will be connected to the south facing garden via wide tiered steps.
The extension will provide a new open plan lounge kitchen diner for the young family to enjoy.
The sculpted landscape will also accommodate external booth seating for outdoor dining and a fire pit area for toasting marshmallows.
