Greatspace Architects were asked to provide a garage conversion and extension to a property in Slaley, Northumberland.
We have proposed to connect the new extension and garage conversion back to the traditional barn conversion via a flat roof ‘link’.
The extension will feature bronze form work, tin roofing and modern glazing against Shou Sugi Ban (burnt larch timber) cladding.
The glazing has been arranged to visually connect the spaces back toward the main dwelling.
We have also decided to sink the landscaping in front of the extension to create more privacy and so that the outdoor furniture has a minimal impact on the stunning views.
